Seminarium “Our seas, our fisheries – our food”
Kungsfenan The Swedish Seafood Award invites the general public, fishermen, marine researchers, managers, policy-makers and other stakeholders to a
seminar on recent status reports and on strategies, challenges and responsibilities for the overexploited fish stocks.
The world's marine catches have increased more than fourfold in the past
40 years. This growth has resulted in overfishing and wasteful, destructive
fishing practices worldwide, which now threaten hundreds of millions of
people who depend on fishing for food and livelihoods.
The local, regional and global fisheries problems are our responsibility,
and a most challenging issue for all in the years to come. Get on the inside track at the seminar “Our seas, our fisheries – our food”.
